Breath Care Collective

Come home to yourself.

Sometimes life asks more of us than we feel we have to give. Stress, trauma, burnout, grief, illness, relationship challenges, or simply the constant demands of everyday life can leave us feeling disconnected — from our bodies, our relationships, and ourselves.

Breath Care Collective offers a gentle, evidence-informed space to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover your own capacity to heal.

Because healing doesn't begin by trying harder. It begins with feeling safe enough to breathe.

Breathe
the practice

Why Breathwork?

We breathe up to 28,000 times every day, yet most of us rarely notice it.

Our breath responds to everything we experience. Stress, anxiety, grief, excitement, exercise, illness, and even the pace of modern life. Over time, these patterns can become automatic, shaping how our nervous system responds to the world around us.

Breathwork is the practice of intentionally using the breath to support both your body and mind. By changing the way we breathe, we can influence our nervous system, increase our awareness, and create opportunities for greater balance, resilience, and wellbeing.

While breathwork can be a powerful tool for healing from stress and trauma, it is equally valuable for everyday life. It can help you:

  • Calm your nervous system during times of stress or anxiety
  • Increase energy and mental clarity when you're feeling tired or overwhelmed
  • Improve focus, concentration, and performance at work, in sport, or during study
  • Develop greater emotional regulation and resilience
  • Reduce the physical effects of chronic stress
  • Support better sleep and create a sense of calm at the end of the day
  • Feel more connected to your body and your emotions
  • Create moments of stillness in an increasingly busy world

Every breathwork session is guided, intentional, and tailored to your individual needs and goals. Some sessions are designed to help you slow down and regulate your nervous system. Others may focus on building energy, enhancing performance, improving focus, or exploring deeper emotional awareness.

There is no "right" way to experience breathwork. Some sessions feel calming and restorative, while others leave you feeling energised, clear-headed, and ready to take on the day.

At Breath Care Collective, breathwork isn't about pushing through discomfort or chasing extraordinary experiences. It's about learning one of the most accessible tools you'll ever have—your own breath—and using it to support your health, wellbeing, and the life you want to live.

You are welcome, exactly as you are.

About
Nicole

Welcome.

I'm Nicole.

I'm a Registered Nurse, Breathwork Facilitator, and hold a Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health), specialising in Psychosexual Therapy. For more than twenty years, I've had the privilege of supporting people through some of life's most vulnerable moments.

Throughout my career, I've worked in emergency nursing, trauma care, sexual health, and clinical leadership. Those experiences have taught me that healing isn't just about treating symptoms—it's about creating safety, building connection, and understanding the whole person.

Breath Care Collective was created to offer a different kind of care. A place where evidence-informed breathwork meets compassion, where your nervous system is honoured, and where you can reconnect with yourself at your own pace.

Whether you're navigating stress, burnout, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, or seeking support with your sexual wellbeing, you are welcome exactly as you are.

a personal note

Why work with me?

Choosing someone to support you is a deeply personal decision. My hope is that when you walk through my door, you feel safe, heard, and accepted—exactly as you are.

What makes my approach different is the combination of clinical expertise, lived experience, and genuine human connection.

For more than twenty years, I've cared for people through moments of crisis, trauma, illness, loss, and profound life change. My work as a Registered Nurse has taught me the science of the body, while my studies in psychosexual therapy have deepened my understanding of relationships, intimacy, and emotional wellbeing. Breathwork has brought these worlds together, offering a practical and powerful way to support the nervous system and create lasting change.

But my understanding doesn't come solely from my professional life.

Like many people, I've experienced seasons of burnout, anxiety, depression, relationship loss, and significant health challenges. Those experiences have shown me that healing isn't about being perfect or having all the answers. It's about finding the courage to begin, allowing yourself to be supported, and discovering that small, consistent changes can make a profound difference over time.

When we work together, you'll find a space that is compassionate, evidence-informed, trauma-aware, and free from judgement. There is no pressure to perform, no expectation to "do it right," and no need to be anything other than yourself.

Whether you're seeking greater calm, more energy, emotional resilience, deeper self-awareness, or simply a moment to pause and reconnect, we'll work together in a way that honours your individual needs, goals, and pace.

Because healing doesn't happen by becoming someone else.

It begins by coming home to who you already are.

your safety

Breathwork Safety and Contraindications

Your safety is my highest priority.

Breathwork is a safe and beneficial practice for most people. However, because different breathing techniques can influence your heart rate, blood pressure, nervous system, and emotional state, it isn't a one-size-fits-all approach.

Every person arrives with a unique health history, life experience, and goals. Before your first session, you'll complete a confidential health screening questionnaire so we can determine the safest and most appropriate approach for you.

Many medical conditions don't prevent you from participating in breathwork—they simply mean we'll adapt the session to suit your individual needs.

May require medical clearance

  • Severe cardiovascular disease
  • Previous heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Aneurysm
  • Uncontrolled hypertension
  • Serious arrhythmias
  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders
  • Glaucoma
  • Retinal detachment
  • Recent surgery
  • Significant head injury or concussion
  • Osteoporosis with fracture risk
  • Pregnancy
  • Any condition where your treating specialist recommends avoiding strenuous breathing practices

If any of these apply, I may ask you to obtain written clearance from your GP or specialist before participating in certain breathwork techniques.

Not appropriate at this time

  • Active psychosis
  • Acute mania
  • Severe dissociative episodes that are currently unmanaged
  • Intoxication from alcohol or recreational drugs
  • A medical emergency requiring immediate treatment

If this is the case, the priority is ensuring you receive the most appropriate medical or mental health support first.

A trauma-informed approach

Breathwork is never about pushing through discomfort or forcing an experience.

Every session is guided by your nervous system, your health, and your capacity on the day. You remain in control throughout the session, and you're always free to slow down, pause, or stop.

There is no expectation to achieve a particular outcome.

The goal is to create a safe environment where your body can begin to regulate, restore, and reconnect at its own pace.

If you're unsure, let's talk.

If you have a medical condition, are taking medication, or simply aren't sure whether breathwork is suitable for you, I'd be happy to have a conversation before you book.

Together, we can decide whether breathwork is appropriate for you and, if so, how we can tailor the experience to meet your individual needs safely.

Professional Note: As a Registered Nurse and Breathwork Facilitator, all health information is treated confidentially. My screening process helps ensure your breathwork experience is safe, personalised, and appropriate for your individual health needs. Breathwork complements medical care but is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment by your healthcare provider.

Sexual Wellbeing

Sexual wellbeing is about more than sex.

Sexual wellbeing is an important part of our overall health, yet it's often the area we find hardest to talk about.

It encompasses how we feel about our bodies, our relationships, intimacy, pleasure, identity, boundaries, and connection. It can be influenced by stress, illness, hormones, trauma, ageing, medication, life transitions, and the many experiences that shape who we are.

With a Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health), specialising in Psychosexual Therapy, and a background in sexual health nursing, I understand that conversations about sexual wellbeing can feel vulnerable. My role is to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive space where these conversations can happen without shame or judgement.

At Breath Care Collective, I'm passionate about providing education, increasing awareness, and helping people understand the powerful connection between the nervous system, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sexual health. Through breathwork, education, and compassionate therapeutic support, I help people better understand the connection between their body, emotions, relationships, and sexual wellbeing.

Sexual wellbeing consultations and education are available now — book a session to get started.

questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is breathwork?

Breathwork uses intentional breathing techniques to support the nervous system, improve wellbeing, and develop greater awareness of the connection between body and mind.

Do I need experience?

Not at all. Breathwork is suitable for beginners and every session is guided.

Is breathwork safe?

For most people, yes. Before your first session you'll complete a confidential health screening questionnaire to ensure breathwork is appropriate for you and to tailor your session to your individual needs.

What happens during a session?

Each session begins with a conversation about your goals, health, and how you're feeling that day. You'll then be guided through breathing practices before allowing time for rest, reflection, and integration.

Can breathwork help with anxiety or stress?

Many people find breathwork helps them feel calmer, more grounded, and better able to manage stress. While breathwork is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment, it can be a valuable complementary practice.

Do you offer counselling?

My current practice focuses on breathwork, practical wellbeing education, and therapeutic support, helping people better understand the connection between breathing, the body, and emotional wellbeing. General counselling is coming soon — additional services will become available in the near future.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe and move freely. Everything else is provided.

Can I book a discovery call?

Absolutely. If you're unsure whether breathwork is right for you, you're welcome to arrange a complimentary 15-minute phone call before booking.

Do you offer Group Bookings?

Private group breathwork experiences are available because healing doesn't always happen alone.

Sometimes the people who know us best can also be part of our journey.

Breath Care Collective offers intimate private group breathwork experiences for up to five people, creating a safe, supportive environment where friends, family members, partners, or colleagues can breathe, connect, and grow together.

Keeping groups intentionally small allows everyone to feel seen, supported, and comfortable enough to be vulnerable if they choose. Every experience is thoughtfully facilitated to create psychological safety while honouring each person's individual journey.

Private group sessions are ideal for:

  • Friends looking to reconnect and share a meaningful experience
  • Couples wanting to deepen communication and connection
  • Families navigating change or celebrating milestones
  • Healthcare professionals and carers prioritising self-care
  • Small workplace wellbeing sessions
  • Special occasions, retreats, or wellness gatherings

Tailor Your Experience — private group bookings can be customised to suit your group's needs and may include:
